I ordered a package of 8 AA Imuto batteries as well as the charging case. The device looks really good and of high quality. The mechanical construction is very well executed, and the manufacturing quality also looks good. The idea of the device is excellent: the batteries stay safely stored in their own case, where they are charged centrally through a single connection.
I was very curious to know how well the given capacity values hold up. I fully charged the batteries and built a simple discharge device with which I could measure the battery capacity. I connected 4 batteries in series and discharged them through a 33-ohm resistor, measuring the discharge voltage once per hour. The discharge current changed accordingly as the voltage dropped. After 11.75 hours, the pack voltage had fallen to 3.45 volts, and I stopped the measurement at that point.
The result of the measurement was that the capacity was 2000 mAh and 2850 mWh. This is clearly lower than the promised 2400 mAh and 3600 mWh, but still a reasonably good result. Of course, the accuracy of the measurement is not the same as in a certified laboratory, but it does give a good idea of the capacity.
